On May 7, 2025, the Supreme Court has decided about legality of the resolution No. 165/2025 taken by the National Electoral Commission's on April 23, 2025 containing guidelines for district electoral commissions regarding the tasks and procedure for preparing and conducting voting in the elections of the President of the Republic of Poland ordered for May 18, 2025 (the Guidelines). Three complaints against validity of the resolution were filled by the election committees of candidates for the office of the President of the Republic of Poland: Magdalena Biejat , Marek Jakubiak and Karol Nawrocki.

Supreme Court dismissed the appeal lodged by the Election Committee of Romuald Starosielec, candidate for President of the Republic of Poland, against the resolution of the National Electoral Commission refusing to register the candidate

The National Electoral Commission refused to register Romuald Starosielec as a candidate for the President of the Republic of Poland in the election scheduled for 18 May 2025. The representative of the candidate’s Election Committee challenged the resolution of the National Electoral Commission, which refused to register the candidate due to the failure to attach to the application a list of at least 100,000 citizens supporting his candidacy.

The two-day time limit for lodging a complaint with the Supreme Court against the decision of the National Electoral Commission (PKW) to refuse the notification of the establishment of an election committee is not subject to reinstatement.
